Ciberrex Games, also previously known as Cyberrex, Ciberrex SA, and Ciberrex Ltd (none of which imply a legally registered company), was founded on March 5, 2012, by two elementary school students who wanted to make their own games: MRX and RBC.
We started by creating very basic point-and-click games like Casa Fantasma (RBC) and Quiz Game (MRX) using PowerPoint, but we soon realized its limitations and ventured into learning Game Maker 8.1, as it was a real game engine that greatly expanded the possibilities of our ideas. The classic era of Ciberrex Games saw the releases of:
All these games were developed with Game Maker 8.1 between 2012 and 2013, most of them following tutorials for cliché genres like space shooters, platformers, Pacman clones, etc., with the exception of Mini Tenis 12, which was the first game Ciberrex (MRX) developed without following a predefined tutorial.
After 2013, with the rise of YouTube, we decided to focus on growing our personal channels on the platform and left Ciberrex abandoned for a while. MRX continued working on what was intended to be Blood Aliens 3 at the time, nearly finishing it, but it was never published—though the original prototype for Blood Aliens 3 is uploaded to our YouTube channel. In 2015, MRX took the initiative again and released FNAF:TAR to promote his YouTube channel. He also attempted to work on the release of Plataform 2, and while progress was made, it was never finished.
Ten years passed until RBC, in 2025, revived Ciberrex for a second time with the goal of concluding the classic alien trilogy by remaking the first game in the saga. What started as an 'HD' remake of that basic game ended up being the cinematic Blood Aliens 3 on Steam and Itch.io, released on December 24, 2025—exactly 13 years after the release of its predecessor, Blood Aliens 2. It had a 6-month development period and a budget of €1127.17 due to the use of third-party assets, voice actors, and the soundtrack composition. Unity 6.0 was the engine used for this project.
As Blood Aliens 3 neared the end of development, RBC spent a week remaking Ciberrex's first 'star game': Plataform, after trying to play it and getting frustrated with the controls and level design. It was published on Itch.io as Plataform: Reloaded, this time using the Godot 4.4 engine.
At that point, the studio changed its name to Ciberrex Games, a new logo was designed, and the ciberrexgames.com domain was purchased to make the return official. We also began uploading videos to the official channel regarding the development and gameplay of our games.
